The seaside is a special place for me.
When I was young and oblivious to the intricacies of the world, I would always look forward to the weekends. This was when my dad would bring the family to the beach for a day of fun while he attempted to fish, often without much success. I loved to look out to the sea and dream the day away.
Weeks became months.
Months became years.
The seaside still has a profound attraction to me. It is just like yesterday that I was a boy and I could almost hear the giggles. The feeling is surreal yet nostalgic. The only difference is that the dreams have faded away to be replaced by feelings of longing. Now I would look out to the sea with the breeze on my face and wonder that wherever Dad is now, would we be looking at the same open seas? Would the same breeze ease away our feelings for yesterday?
Is the sea side special for you?
I love how the spearmint and tangerine infuses to provide a foundation of sweetness. This helps to set a lighter and happier tint to my thoughts just like a warm windy day at the beach. Bergamot which flavours earl grey tea works its way through the halls of my memories with it’s traditional notion. I find that it adds to the bottom line of my nostalgic trip swaying the emotions to that of a reminiscing nature.
“Somewhere, over the rainbow, way up high
There’s a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere, over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true ” – Yip Harburg
